Last Updated: 2/15/2025
1. Program Overview
The KG Bounce Community Generator Assistance Program provides free temporary generator rentals to eligible residents during severe weather events and power outages. This program is a voluntary service offered by KG Bounce and is subject to availability.
2. Eligibility
To qualify for a free generator rental, the applicant must:
-
Be a resident of King George County, VA (assistance may be extended to Colonial Beach and Bowling Green at our discretion).
-
Provide a valid government-issued photo ID, which will be kept on file for the duration of the rental.
-
Acknowledge and accept full responsibility for the generator while in their possession.
3. Rental Terms
-
Generators are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are not guaranteed.
-
Each generator is provided with enough fuel for 6-8 hours of operation, depending on usage.
-
If power is not restored after this initial period, the renter is responsible for obtaining additional fuel. KG Bounce will not provide fuel refills.
-
The generator must be returned immediately once power is restored to allow others in need to benefit from the program.
4. Proper Use & Safety Guidelines
By accepting a generator, the renter agrees to:
-
Operate the generator safely and correctly, following all provided instructions.
-
Keep the generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area, at least 20 feet away from doors, windows, and vents.
-
Never operate the generator indoors, in garages, basements, or enclosed spaces due to the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
-
Use the generator only for essential power needs (e.g., medical devices, refrigeration, heating, or lighting).
-
Turn off and allow the generator to cool before refueling to prevent fire hazards.
5. Liability & Responsibility
-
The renter assumes full responsibility for the generator while in their possession.
-
The renter is liable for any loss, theft, or damage to the generator while in their care.
-
KG Bounce is not responsible for any injuries, damages, or losses resulting from the use or misuse of the generator.
-
By participating in this program, the renter waives any claims against KG Bounce, its owners, employees, and affiliates related to generator use.
6. Equipment Return Policy
-
The renter must notify KG Bounce immediately when power is restored so the generator can be picked up and reallocated.
-
If a generator is not returned within a reasonable timeframe after power restoration, KG Bounce reserves the right to take appropriate action, including retrieving the equipment and denying future assistance.
-
In the event that KG Bounce is unable to retrieve the equipment, KG Bounce reserves the right to take legal action to recover the equipment or its full replacement cost. The renter is responsible for any legal fees or court costs incurred by KG Bounce in retrieving unreturned equipment.
7. Program Availability & Changes
-
This program is offered at the discretion of KG Bounce and is subject to availability.
-
KG Bounce reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the program at any time without prior notice.
-
Participation in this program does not establish any ongoing obligation for KG Bounce to provide future assistance.
By accepting a generator from KG Bounce, the renter acknowledges and agrees to these Terms & Conditions.
